assessmentQ accessibility statement
At Televic Education, we are committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. We will do what we can to ensure that our digital platforms and solutions can be used by anyone with disabilities.
Digital accessibility
Digital accessibility refers to the practice of making digital content, websites, and applications usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This involves designing and developing digital products in a way that ensures they can be navigated, understood, and interacted with by users who may have visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive impairments.
Built-in supporting tools
Our digital exam platform assessmentQ contains built-in supporting tools for end users with learning support needs. In assessmentQ’s portal and player, the font size can be enlarged using the browser zoom, and the user preferences dialog allows the end user to switch the colour scheme to dark mode or high contrast mode. Further, keyboard navigation is also supported for crucial interactions.
Screen reader support
assessmentQ supports screen readers as much as possible, and has an integrated Text-To-Speech tool in the exam player. End users can simply click on a paragraph of text to hear it read out loud through their speakers or headphones.
Extra time
In assessmentQ, the author or exam responsible can predefine the allowed length of the exam for individual users. Time adjustments can either be foreseen and planned upfront for end users that require learning support, or extra time can be granted during an exam, for instance, because of an incident. Further, it is possible to schedule different start times on an individual basis.
Conformance status with WCAG
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA. assessmentQ is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means that while we have made significant strides in making our application accessible, there are still areas where we need to improve.
Approach towards full accessibility
We are continuously working on both smaller and larger updates to enhance our accessibility and aim to achieve full compliance with WCAG 2.1, Level AA. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Regular audits by Anysurfer, an organisation specialising in accessibility training and audits.
- Implementing user feedback to improve accessibility features.
- Training our team on best practices for accessibility.
- Collaborating with accessibility experts to ensure our updates meet the required standards.
